Lesson 3: Attraction Marketing – Know Your Avatar

Do you know what attraction marketing is?  Did you know it is probably the single most important part of the online marketing mix because it allows you to identify your niche target market – and attract them to you.

There’s a good chance that you are reading this article because I have used attraction marketing to bring you here.

So what is Attraction Marketing and how do YOU use it?

Attraction marketing is basically attracting like minded people to your business.

So how do you start?

Firstly, you need to know your avatar.  Your avatar is your ideal customer, and you will probably find that your ideal customer is a lot like you.

attraction marketingLet me give you an example of what my ideal customer probably looks like:

My ideal customer is probably female with a young family.  She is probably 35-45 years of age.    She definitely has an entrepreneurial streak.  Her family and husband are her priority, but she knows she has a greatness that she wants to share with the world.

She already has a business or she wants to start one. She is quite driven and her goals will include wanting to make a minimum of a 6 figure income (she doesn’t believe in thinking small).  Whilst her business is important to her, she is determined to have balance in her life and is actively seeking that always.

She is spiritual, she believes in the law of attraction and has a passion for wellness.  She loves animals, she’s feminine but is no pushover.  

She wants to inspire and lead other people to also find that same balance in their lives with a Lifestyle Business.

As you probably realised – I have pretty much described myself.  My ideal customer will meet at least 50% of that criteria, and she might even be a he.  But who-ever you are there is something about me and my work that is resonating with you.

So how do you find these like minded individuals?

Well for me they probably hang out on Facebook and Pinterest.  They are probably actively looking for a way to improve their life to find balance.  They are on forums and in groups that pertain to their business and personal interests.

So this is my Avatar – what does yours look like?

Before you even consider advertising you really need to figure this out.

Take a look in the mirror and make a list.

  • What are you passionate about?
  • What is important to you?
  • What do you want from life?
  • What do you believe in?
  • What are your values?
  • What are your interests?

Once you have a list – you have your ideal customer avatar.
